On introductions
A good offer that arrives a month late is worth nothing. By then the company has already picked someone, usually whoever showed up first, not whoever was best for the task.
The opposite is also true: when a business is about to need something, a short, plain introduction to someone who can actually do the task well, is usually welcome.
Companies don't miss these moments because they're careless. The opportunities are easy to miss when it isn't your only job to look for them.
It's ours though. When we infer a company is about to need something, we find them someone that does it well and ask both parties if they'd like to meet. If they say yes, we introduce them.
We keep it calm, which is where the name comes from--we don't push either side, we don't hide anything, and once the parties are in contact, we step back so the relationship doesn't involve us.
